Celebrating Contemporary Authors
The authors that we are celebrating are Nicholas Sparks, William Golding, and Charles Benoit. All three of their books we are reading involve the genres of suspense, emotions, and common human experiences.
This book has the main character of Kyle Chase, an average 15 year old boy that remembers every lecture his parents/teachers say, just because they say it so many times. He got split up with his friends by not being able to stay caught up with his grades. He is also interested in a girl that he will never get. His life is a typical teenager, but Kyle has many different thoughts than others. The main genre of this book is suspense.
This book is based off of survival skills. Kids in the ages of around 6-12 are trying to stay alive out in the wilderness on an abandoned island. They come across many dangers of where they are located, including having shelters and finding food and water. There are no grown ups around them which causes major conflict. This book also has some suspense as well.
